Collections at the Somers SSR Library
The collection size of the SSR Library is relatively small (about 15,000 volumes). Most of the collection is related to economics and labor, but there are works relevant to anthropology and sociology. The library receives about 1200 new monographs per year from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and the Centre for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR), as well as a number of paper periodicals in the field of Economics.

Collection Development Policy
The Social Science Reference Library has a very limited budget, but occasionaly small purchase requests can be accomodated. For larger purchases, Tom can work with the selectors at Memorial Library to research new products. Please send purchase recommendations to Tom Durkin. Any new materials purchased must relate to the social sciences and serve the educational and research needs of the university community.
The Reserves Collection
The library offers a semester reserves service supporting some of the classes offered in the building. We also provide an electronic reserves service for faculty, TAs and other instructors who teach classes in the Social Science Building.
